The Sunshine House hosts 1st Annual Dancing With The Stars!
What an exciting night for our staff, our dancers, our volunteers, and our guest! Dancing with the Stars was a very successful fundraiser for us. The excitement of the night had guests on the edge of their seats and dancers doing some fancy foot work! Congratulations to our winners!!
Community Awareness
Brooke McBride, CSEC advocate, provided Mandated Reporter training to staff at David Emanuel Academy.
Rita Neesmith and Maria Davis from Toombs County attended the Back to School Bash to provide supplies for children in their county.
We would like to thank Swainsboro First Baptist Church’s 1st-3rd grade GAs for the very special donation of teddy bears! Such sweet girls using their BIG hearts to help others.
Regional MDT Training Event

Advocates from Emanuel, Toombs, Jefferson, Washington and Candler counties attended Trunk or Treats in their communities and provided rulers, pencils, coloring books and candy for all of the children.
The Sunshine House hosted a 2 day Regional MDT training for Law Enforcement, District Attorney's office, DFCS, DJJ and others who investigate or prosecute child abuse cases. There were 150+ people in attendance. Speakers for the event included Prosecutor Victor Vieth, Detective Kevin McNeil, Dr. Stephen Messner, Dr. Curtis Holmes, and Dr. Sara McArthur.
